Do you charge a planning fee?

Hotel-only bookings are always complimentary, while a planning fee applies to our specialized travel services.

This fee accounts for the time, care, expertise, and many emails that go into thoughtfully curating your journey. If your vacation goes sideways, you’re never left navigating disruptions alone, and you certainly will not be waiting on hold with a call center. I step in immediately to troubleshoot, rebook arrangements, and resolve challenges with discretion and efficiency. 


How far in advance should I book?

Booking 6 months ahead of your vacation gives us the best access to five-star properties, local experiences, and competitive rates. However, I can still book an exceptional getaway with just 1-2 months notice. 

For trips with seasonal timing, such as African Safaris, Cherry Blossom Season in Kyoto, December in Aspen, or Harvest Season in Napa Valley, I recommend 12+ months to ensure availability.

What kind of “perks” do you provide?

Perks you can’t request on an online booking platform or with credit card points. Through my industry relationships, I can often secure complimentary upgrades, pre-arrival advocacy, daily breakfast, resort credits, priority waitlists, and special amenities. I also connect you with trusted on-the-ground partners for unique, high-quality excursions. Once you travel like this, you’ll never want to go back.

What is Fora?

Fora Travel is a modern network of travel advisors, and Winke Luxe Travel operates as an independent affiliate within that network. Through our affiliation with Fora, we are able to offer clients access to exclusive industry partnerships and preferred programs, including invitation-only affiliations such as Virtuoso, Rosewood Elite, Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Belmond Bellini Club, and Mandarin Oriental Fan Club.

In addition, we benefit from a collaborative community of highly experienced travel advisors who provide real-world insights and trusted recommendations from destinations worldwide, along with extensive ongoing training and professional development resources.

Can you book Airbnbs or VRBOs?

No, we do not book Airbnbs. Because we’re unable to independently verify the consistency and quality of these properties—and have limited recourse in the event of unexpected issues, including last-minute cancellations—we’re not able to safeguard your experience. 

If you are interested in home or villa rentals for a destination wedding, vow renewal, family reunion, or bachelorette trip, we can easily book those properties through our trusted partners, which include VRBO. 


Do I have to book hotels with you?

Yes, Winke Luxe Travel must handle the hotel booking. This is because my name needs to be on the hotel booking in order to secure your perks and ensure your needs are taken care of. 

Additionally, my compensation is primarily commission-based through the hotels and travel partners I work with, which is standard practice within the travel industry.




Can I book with or earn loyalty points?

If earning hotel loyalty points is a priority for you, just let me know. I can add your loyalty membership numbers to eligible hotel reservations so you can earn points and enjoy any applicable benefits. While I'm unable to book hotels directly using loyalty points, I'm happy to help you maximize the value of your rewards whenever possible.
